Our Planning Services
JT Planning provides planning and development advice to all sectors of the market with a specialisation in residential. Most of our work is collating planning applications and planning appeals, though a wide range of other services are available. Using experience gained in the public sector our remit is normally to maximise the value of a site by gaining planning permission for new development. We advise nationally though most of our work covers Newcastle, Northumberland and the wider North East region. Over the last 25 years we have established good relationships with many Planning Officers in many local planning authorities.
We offer a wide range of services and can help collate and submit all relevant planning submissions including planning applications, listed building consents, planning and enforcement appeals and lawful development certificates.
We can also provide general advice on feasibility and also provide specialist reports such as Planning Statements, Design and Access Statements and Heritage Statements. We always suggest that our clients speak to us first before they decide whether to purchase a site. We can quicky advise on the development potential of any site and check if there are any sensitive designations that might hinder their development proposals.
We understand that every client is individual and that their needs are specific to their business and their site. Initial discussions are always held to find out the clients aims and requirements, then the work is geared to achieving those aims. The business services are very flexible to a client’s bespoke needs and we can be as involved as the client requires. We generally find that most clients opt for our ‘full planning service’ which involves us advising from an early stage and includes collating and lodging a planning application and monitoring its progress through to a decision.

Meet Jon
Jon Tweddell is a chartered Town Planner with around 20 years experience in the industry. Studying in Newcastle upon Tyne Jon has a degree and a diploma in Town Planning. After working various roles within Local Government and private practice Jon launched his business in 2005. After spending numerous years developing relationships in the public and private sectors Jon says, ‘It’s not what you know, it’s who you know!’
